It’s crush velvet rock’n’roll gumbo time with John Schirmer & BLU STU this Friday at the DEPOT. Always a good groove and a good vibe, come on out and enjoy a tasty dip in the cool waters of classic rock and good time blues.

Saturday presents the debut performance of JMJQ, the JONAS MAGRAM JAZZ QUINTET. Sax, jazz and smooth vocals, with worldclass percussion, all in all, a veritable feast for the senses. Both these shows launch at 8:30PM with a $5 cover at the door.

Both nights, 11PM to close, it’s DEPOT heavenly DJ EVAN on EARTH, laying his liquid gold out on the dance floor, including favorite hip hop, Top 40, classic gems and much more. Get your dance groove on! No cover.

This is Jimmy Moore’s last weekend as part of the DEPOT team. He’s had the pleasure of working with Bob & Judy and their beautiful love palace since its public inception. Always a treat and a triple threat, on Friday Ottumwa’s finest X-RAY MARY deliver their surf zombie death ray pre-Halloween musical terror in a fine fettle once again. This time special guests include TV COP and JORETTA OAKS, two bands rising quickly from the grave.

On Saturday night, Iowa City’s Grateful Dead ultimate tribute band WINTERLAND graces the Depot stage with a much anticipated return engagement. These guys rock the Dead with panache and aplomb. Definitely not to be missed. Featured in the Iowa Source special section.

11pm to close DJ EVAN on EARTH enlivens the dance floor in a heavenly fashion. Get your groove on!

TONY COITUS & LOS BANDITOS will grace the Depot stage Friday night 8:30-10:30pm. Jon Estrin and friends will make joyful noise to fill your senses. Saturday evening, regional favorites THE RIVERDOGS return for a night of Mississippi swamptown richness. Randy, Bonnie and William will set your hearts and soles of your feet on fire.

Saturday it’s the DEPOT debut of mighty mighty jazz acolytes 3=ONE. Trad trappings by a delectably seasoned trio that own the stage with their own unique mastery. Shawn Medeiros, Mike Cantafio and George Foster. Not to be missed. Speaking of masterful, DJ VILLANOVA $LIM commands the dance floor 11pm to close.

Saturday night BLU STU returns to the Depot stage to share their crush velvet rock’n’roll. Led by artist John Schirmer, the band consists of Eric Henderson on drums, John Graham on keyboards, and James Moore on bass. Always a rich aural palate and danceable goodness.

Both late nights, DJ VILLANOVA $LIM [pictured above] directs the dance floor traffic into the wee hours, 11pm to close, with his delectable, undeniably hot mix of beats and tunes. $lim, nothing but money in the bank.
